A walkthrough of the app, from start to finish
EMU2 step by step
EMU2 (Explore, Measure, Understand, 2nd edition) answers questions about Queensland's wildlife records and map layers, and keeps every answer as a sheet you can work with. Follow one project, koala and threatened species records in Noosa, from the first words typed to the saved report. Every screen is the real app.
Play scrolls at a reading pace; a wheel, a tap or a key hands control back. 23 steps, about 10 minutes.
What EMU2 does
- Answers questions about Queensland's wildlife records and map layers, asked in everyday words.
- Keeps every answer as a sheet: a grid you can split, filter and see on the map.
- Asks the next question from any row: against a habitat map, the distance to a protected area, how likely a species is at a site, or the species' own sheet.
- Compares places by the species recorded in them, and tests whether groups of places differ.
- Writes down how every number was reached, and saves the work as a report or an Excel workbook.
