SiteScope

Know what's on every site
before you commit.

100+ live constraint layers across five categories — queried against your exact study area in seconds, from authoritative Queensland and Commonwealth government sources.

Instant spatial screening
Draw a boundary, upload a shapefile, or search by lot/plan and run a full constraint check in a single click. Environmental, planning, physical, infrastructure and legislative risks identified immediately.
📡
Live government data, every time
Every layer queries the agency REST endpoint at run time — DESI, DCCEEW, DSDILGP, NNTT, GBRMPA and more. No locally cached data. What you see reflects the current published dataset.
📄
Defensible reports, fast
Generate a branded PDF with a map capture, constraint register and data currency notes. Export the full register as CSV or GeoJSON. Save projects to revisit, update and re-export as a project progresses.
Five constraint categories

How it works
1
Find your site
Search by address, lot/plan, coordinates — or draw a polygon or upload a GeoJSON, KML or shapefile.
2
Refine the area
Apply a buffer in metres or kilometres. The original boundary stays visible for reference.
3
Run constraint check
All visible layers are spatially queried against your area. Legal triggers are automatically flagged.
4
Export and save
Generate a branded PDF report. Export the register as CSV or GeoJSON. Save the project for later.
EcoAssess

Spatial ecological sensitivity screening
before fieldwork begins.

200+ Queensland ecological data layers across five categories — queried against your study area to identify sensitivities, scope fieldwork and build your desktop assessment record.

🔍
Desktop assessment, done properly
Query WildNet species records, remnant ecosystems, essential habitat, wetlands, watercourses, MSES and protected areas against your boundary in a single run. Identify ecological sensitivities before setting foot on site.
📡
Always-current agency data
Every layer queries DESI, DCCEEW, GBRMPA and other agency REST endpoints at run time. WildNet records, RE mapping, vegetation management categories and protected area boundaries reflect the current published dataset.
📋
Field-ready report output
Generate a full assessment report with map capture, layer register, data currency notes and methodology. Export as PDF. Designed to go straight into a flora and fauna assessment, MSES assessment or EIS appendix.

How it works
1
Define your study area
Draw a polygon, upload a shapefile or GeoJSON, or search by lot/plan. Apply a buffer to capture nearby ecology.
2
Explore the ecology
Toggle layers on and off by category. Click any feature for attribute details, data currency and source agency.
3
Run your assessment
Spatially query all active layers in one click. Results are organised by category with a full feature register.
4
Generate your report
Export a branded PDF with map capture, layer register and methodology. Ready for inclusion in an EIS or FFA.

What users say

Trusted by environmental and planning professionals

Feedback from ecologists, environmental consultants and planners using SiteScope and EcoAssess across Queensland.

"

I used to spend half a day pulling constraint data from half a dozen different portals for each new site. SiteScope gets me the same picture in about ten minutes, in a format I can actually put in a report. It's become the first thing I open on any new project.

The WildNet integration alone saves me significant time on every desktop assessment. Having species records, RE mapping, essential habitat and MSES all in one spatial query — with a register I can export — is exactly what this workflow needed.

EcoAssess

We run both apps across the team for constraint screening and ecological assessment. The bundle pricing made the decision easy, and having everything on a single login with a consistent interface has simplified our workflow considerably.

FAQ

Common questions

Anything not covered here — email hello@biogeo.com.au and we'll get back to you promptly.

Is this the same data as the Queensland Government's own portals?
Yes — both apps query the same authoritative REST endpoints used by agency portals such as QSpatial, QPID and the EPBC Protected Matters Search Tool. The difference is that SiteScope and EcoAssess bring the relevant layers together in one place and run them against your study area automatically, rather than requiring you to visit each portal separately.
Can I use the reports in a development application or ecological assessment?
Reports are suitable for use as supporting material in desktop assessments, EIS appendices, flora and fauna assessments and preliminary constraint reports. They are indicative only — results must be verified with the relevant data custodian before being relied upon for statutory decisions. The Terms of Service and each report output make this clear.
What happens when my 14-day trial ends?
Your subscription starts automatically at the monthly or annual rate you selected and your card is charged. You will receive a reminder email before the trial ends. If you cancel before day 14 you won't be charged anything.
Can we pay by purchase order or invoice?
Yes. If your organisation requires an invoice or purchase order before setting up an account — common in government agencies and larger consultancies — email hello@biogeo.com.au and we'll arrange it. We issue invoices with net-14 or net-30 payment terms via Stripe, and activate your account once payment clears. The trial period is waived for invoice customers since internal approval is commitment enough.
How current is the data?
Every layer is fetched live from the agency REST endpoint at the time you run your assessment — there is no locally cached data. Currency depends on how frequently each agency publishes updates to their service. The layer panel shows the data freshness and update cadence for each layer.
Does it work on mobile or tablet?
The apps are designed for desktop use and work best on a laptop or desktop browser. Basic functionality is accessible on a tablet, but the map interface and sidebar are optimised for larger screens. Mobile support is on the roadmap.
Can I switch between monthly and annual billing?
Yes. You can switch from monthly to annual at any time from your account settings — the annual rate takes effect at the start of your next billing period. Switching from annual to monthly takes effect when your current annual period ends.
What states are covered, and when will more be added?
Queensland is live now for both apps. Additional states are being built progressively with the same architecture tailored to each state's legislation and data sources. Your subscription automatically includes access to new state versions at no extra cost as they go live — no upgrade needed.
Can multiple people at my organisation share a subscription?
Individual subscriptions are for single-user access. For organisations with 3 or more users, team subscriptions are available — contact us for pricing. Sharing login credentials is not permitted under the Terms of Service.
